Fist Combination Helps Technological Upgrading; Opportunities Outweigh Challenges in Cognitive Era

In the cognitive era, diversified market demands and trans-boundary competition bring about new challenges for enterprise development. Pure digital solutions are no longer enough to satisfy the development demands of enterprises for expanding the market and standing out. Enterprises desire prospective reflection on industries, and are in urgent need of smart digital business transformation and technical innovation.

Synthesis is China’s leading provider of hardware and software integration solutions in the field of intelligent identification. The cognitive era is just around the corner. Synthesis sees the opportunity in the collision of digital trends and cognitive intelligence, and hopes to exploit the growth points of enterprises’ mid-and-long term new business, and maintain a leading position in the industry as it continues to provide services for many industries.

As such, Synthesis hopes to continue to deeply explore such application fields as the mobile business, convenient and fast payment and banking-medical self-service in order to provide its current customers with ‘cognition +’industry solutions relying on multi-aspect intelligent identification and industry application technology, as well as its years of experience accumulated in the fields of mobile internet, signature-free and password-free micropayment, and big data, and in combination with IBM’s leading advantages in the fields of cognitive computing, the Internet of Things and big data.

For example, the Watson Explorer products provided by IBM have a strong data exploration capacity based on cognitive competence, which can provide all-round related information views for users. It can effectively strengthen the general user understanding of Synthesis products by collecting and analyzing structured and unstructured data, thereby gaining deeper insights.

Facing Industrial Intelligent Application; All-round Upgrading of Cognitive Interaction

In the next few years, as the first stage of cooperation, Synthesis will focus on promoting and applying Watson Explorer for establishing artificial intelligence service capabilities based on big data and industrial knowledge bases for industry customers in the fields of medical treatment and finance, and conduct all-round innovation in science and technology.

In the medical field, the banking-medical self-service equipment of Synthesis, which has been adopted by many hospitals in China, is expected to be upgraded so as to obtain the capacity to conduct natural language interaction with patients and intelligent cognition supported by specialized knowledge bases and historical information, and value-added services will be developed which will provide medical instructions, consultation, health risk warnings and health care suggestions, thereby effectively improving the quality and efficiency of hospital services.

In the financial field, based on the rich bank customer resources of Synthesis and IBM’s deep industry experience, both sides will discuss the expansion of the intelligent cognition business in two aspects: first, they will develop service robots applicable to bank outlets which will have such functions as guest guidance, VIP recognition, business consultation, financial advice, risk warning, smart reminder and interesting interaction; second, they will devote themselves to adding the capability of intelligent cognition to financial self-service machines, providing smooth human-machine interactive functions and effectively reducing the workload of banks with personnel on duty.

Synthesis President Wang Jichun makes a speech

Synthesis President Wang Jichun said, “After many years of careful research in the fields of intelligent identification and industry application technology, Synthesis has become a leading enterprise in the intelligent identification industry. With the arrival of the Internet of Things and big data era, Synthesis is facing new opportunities and challenges. Therefore, we have made the enterprise development strategy of ‘from intelligent recognition to cognitive industry solutions, and from in-depth industrial research to industrial integration’. A key to industrial integration is to integrate isolated and unstructured industry data and discover and apply the meaning and value behind it. IBM can provide powerful cognitive computing and rational analysis abilities, so it is the best partner for us to rapidly achieve our strategic target. The current cooperation and short-term application in the medical and financial industries are the entry point and starting point of our cooperation. I believe Synthesis will be able to seize the opportunity to achieve cross-industry development in leaps over the next five years.”

As IBM Greater China Cognitive Solutions for Manufacturing and Retail Industries General Manager and Partner Chen Wen said, “IBM helps enterprises find value from a wide range of data sources including their own data, strengthen their current professional experience and decision-making capacities through cognitive technology, and develop customized solutions in innovative ways. The agreement signed with Synthesis marks IBM’s first cooperation with Chinese electronic equipment and software industries since IBM issued its cognitive business strategy. We hope to provide customers and partners with impetus for transformation through cooperation, and work together to promote the wide application of cognitive technology, thereby benefiting more people.”
